Now, six months later, it is time to take stock of what we have achieved so far. And I am happy to tell you that, overall, we made good progress.

First of all, I would like to use this opportunity to welcome the new members to JSIG. Since the Journalism Studies Interest Group entered its first membership year in October 2004, our membership is steadily growing. Many of these new members have submitted paper or panel proposals to JSIG for the next annual conference of ICA in New York, May 2005.
