First created in 1985 as an interest group, the Feminist Scholarship Division (FSD) became a division of the International Communication Association in 1993.  FSD is dedicated to promoting communication-related research that builds upon the literature of feminist scholarship.

FSD provides forums for the presentation and discussion of issues including: the social, political, and economic construction of gender; the relationships among gender and race, ethnicity, class and sexual identity; and the relations of power between women and men.

Facilitating networking among scholars is an important part of FSD’s mission. Please take a look around this website for information on upcoming conferences, FSD leadership, our by-laws, current and past newsletters, and more. Comments and questions are always welcome!
