Welcome to the Feminist Scholarship Division of the International Communication Association newsletter! The FSD will be publishing this newsletter several times a year with articles, events, and issues of interest to feminist communication scholars. Here you can find calls for papers, reports of new research and scholarship, and updates on the annual ICA conferences.
In this issue we have some terrific articles by FSD members, including some thoughts about mentoring and issues of social class by Jane Banks of Purdue University, an article on research and gender politics in academia by Sheida Shirvani of Ohio University, a discussion of interdisciplinarity in feminist studies by junior scholar Isabel Molina of Purdue University, and a report from our chair Carolyn M. Byerly on the goals, themes, and plans for the Feminist Scholarship Division of ICA.
We invite you browse through our articles and please feel free to submit articles, essays, or reports to us! Submissions may be sent via e-mail to Isabel Molina, Newsletter Editor, at molinai@ipfw.edu. We welcome and invite your comments, questions, and ideas for feminist scholarship, our division, our newsletter, and ICA.
