Support a New Journal!
Padva asks support for sexuality journal
FSD member Gilad Padva (Tel Aviv U) would like for FSD members and others to send letters encouraging the reinstatement of a successful journal just suspended by its publisher for "financial reasons." The Journal of Sexuality and Gender Studies - formerly the Journal of Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual Identity - was published for seven years by Kluwer Academic/Human Sciences Press. Gilad characterizes the journal as a "fruitful and highly illuminating intellectual work."

Gilad asks FSD members to send letters that "encourage and support the journal's wonderful scholar editor," Professor Warren Blumenfeld at Wblumenfeld@mail.colgate.edu in his bid to have the journal resume publication.

By the way, those with access to this journal will want to check out Gilad's article in the last chapter, "Heavenly Monsters: Male Bodies, Fantasies and Identifications in the Naked Issue of Attitude Magazine". International Journal of Sexuality and Gender Studies, Vol. 7, No. 4, October 2002 (pp. 281-292).
