ICA and Console-ing Passions
ICA 2004 presents a unique opportunity for FSD members. I am a co-host for the international conference Console-ing Passions: Television, Video and Feminism, and I have scheduled the conference specifically to be right after ICA in New Orleans! I did this because CP has been the best conference I've ever attended and I wanted to get more people in Communication involved. Sponsored by Tulane University, the conference will be May 30 - June 2 at the Radisson downtown. Conference fees are low and the rates at the hotel will be unbeatable ($80 a night), facilitating everyone to stay an extra day or two and enjoy the city.
The call for papers / workshops / video / sound / new media submissions is located at: www.tulane.edu/~communic/cpnola/index.html. The deadline is NOVEMBER 15th, so please submit soon! I promise you'll have a great audience, meet lots of cool feminists, pick up some more books, and have more fun in the Crescent City!
