Affiliate Journals

Affiliate journals serve several of ICA’s internationalization and academic goals. The affiliate journal program is designed to build bridges throughout the international communication community and to connect our membership with communication research published in non- English high-quality journals. The program helps publicize the finest communication research done throughout the world, giving our members access to new and diverse audiences while supporting our colleagues throughout the world who are hoping to expand their audience and intellectual contributions to our field.

Communication & Society

Communication & Society is a leading Chinese-language journal in journalism and communication. Launched in December 2006, the journal serves the rapidly expanding research community in Greater China and other parts of the world. It aims to achieve three major goals. The first is to promote the development of communication science in Chinese through the publication of original and state-of-the-art research reports. The second is to serve as a bridge between scholarship in the East and West and to promote transborder perspectives in research. The third is to foster an interdisciplinary approach to the study of communication.

It is a joint publication of the Centre for Chinese Media and Comparative Communication Research, School of Journalism and Communication, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and the Centre of Media and Communication Research, School of Communication, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU).

Cuadernos.info is a fully open-access scientific journal (i.e., without article processing charges) that uses double-blind peer review to publish articles on mediated communication in Ibero-America—the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking regions in the Americas, in addition to Spain and Portugal). It seeks to disseminate theories, empirical evidence and methodological developments regarding media, professional practices, audiences, institutions, technologies, and the effects of communication on the social, political, economic, and cultural spheres. It covers journalism, digital media, institutional communication (including corporate and strategic communication), broadcasting (TV, radio) audiovisual (film), and advertising. It is aimed at scholars, communication practitioners, and professionals interested in communication and the media in Ibero-America.

Problemi dell’informazione

Established in 1976, Problemi dell’Informazione, is the first Italian scientific journal focusing specifically on journalism and communication studies. While keeping the pace with the latest transformations in the field of journalism and of journalism studies, the journal addresses several other fields, including, among others, public-sector communication, political communication, gender and media studies, health communication, organizational communication, digital platforms and critical algorithm studies. The journal publishes contributions in Italian and in English after a rigorous double-blind peer review process.

Revue Française des Sciences de l'Information et de la Communication

Publication in French, aimed at an international audience of researchers, teachers, and information and communication professionals, covering a wide range of specialties. This journal is a logical extension of the long publishing history of the French Society of Information and Communication Sciences (SFSIC). It intends to report on scientific progress in the various fields of information and communication sciences, emerging research, including work on social practices, systems, hardware and concepts, research activities, articles by young researchers, reviews, teaching departments, study groups, related associations, etc.

An innovative open access journal published by the German Communication Association (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft, DGPuK e.V.) The journal represents all areas of communication studies and the entire spectrum of theoretical and methodological approaches. The journal aims to present a full range of studies in communications and media on a high level of quality. It therefore seeks to publish new research results in the field of media and communication sciences, gives a general overview of the international state of research and create a forum for interdisciplinary discussions.
